Onion stronghold

It is still raining. Although as yet to reach biblical proportions, I am a little concerned with the onions. The mizo (trenches) were quick to fill and haven’t contained the water. The beds seem reminiscent of a Motte-and-bailey castle. Perhaps I need to build my motte a little higher. Or perhaps, I need to get out more?
