Ethnically homogeneous

It has been just four days since Taro Aso and his new cabinet have taken up the chalice. The new PM welcomed the USS George Washington, whilst the masses of protesters were welcomed by riot police. The newly appointed Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has already overstepped the mark and has stepped down.
In addition to stating “Japanese do not like foreigners” and that the country is “ethnically homogeneous”; the former minister for education described the Japan Teachers Union “as a cancer for Japan’s education system” and vowed to destroy the group. In his former role, education law was changed to put greater emphasis on patriotism. This was opposed by the group.
He is credited in leading the fight to censor references to comfort women in junior high school texts, something he takes great pride in. He also states the Nanking Massacre is “pure fabrication”.
Who would employ such a contentious figure unless they are of the same opinion?

Well WW II may be long gone but it still takes some time to purge the country of oldtimersstuck with old values. Look at USA, they still have a president from the Wild West ….

The cliquey elite that run the country are still trying to resurrect the Empire of Japan.

Talk about power elite, look up Taro Aso on Wikipedia. Many connections to both former prime ministers and the royal family, historically and in the present day.

Speaking of politics, the old mum at my house has put up another Komeito poster. The last one got taken down because I drew on it a bit. This one I’ll just take down myself and replace it with some communist party posters. The Japanese Communist Party is the best political party in Japan, in my opinion.

They are all the same. I was tempted to knock out a checklist. I noticed the posters going up - although the same old faces and photos as before.
I liked the story yesterday of the guy that went for a swim in the Emperor’s moat. That showed them. Obviously treating people as criminals when they arrive here doesn’t stop them committing terrible acts.
