Gym: one month in

The idea was to write how I survived the first month in the gym unscathed. Being near the end of my session today, I thought I’d do a few sets of barbell pullovers. After the warm-up, the weight of the bar seemed to strain more than it ought as I shifted position slightly. It felt momentarily, as if my arm was pulled out of my shoulder. A definite pop. As there wasn’t much pain I finished the rest of my time on other exercises. I wondering now if I’ve rogered it as there’s now an unsettling grinding noise through some motions. Hopefully, just a bit inflamed. Silly me.

Oh no! I’d definitely put some ice on it, and take some anti-inflammatories, like Advil. I hope your shoulder is better soon.
P.S .. the underpants kill me. I hope that’s not what you’re wearing to the gym!

HI Adrian,
How’s your arm? I hope it wasn’t injured too seriously.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t want to tempt fate earlier…
Still a bit of grinding however much better.
I was hoping to replace the icon with a drawing of a dumbbell but it has so far eluded me. I did buy some new lightweight gym shorts for the winter – I’m sure the gym is going to be heated like a department store.
