Kento’s first camp

The three of us, along with my sister-in-law went camping over on the Shimane peninsula. Instead of bringing smaller tents, we hired a spacious six man tent. I guess all along the coastline it can get pretty windy. The afternoon we arrived was no exception. One of the many jobs I was tasked with was erecting the tent with a set of Japanese instructions. The two pregnant females looked on while Kento ran off with the mallet and the flysheet turned into a parasail.
With darkness soon approaching, the next challenge was to turn an assortment of mismatched foods into an agreeable dinner, in a gale. I pictured myself being on the set of Ready Steady Cook.
Helped with vials of spices from previous outings, something comforting got cooked up. The turmeric however, turned out to be a hot curry powder. With the addition of a few miniature chocolates, the stew was toned down and thickened. Three of us slept very well, Ritsue far exceeded her personal best, managing six trips to the toilet. We were only gone just over a day, yet returned to find the spinach had sprouted.

What a great post, and a fun adventure for Kento. I’ll bet he had a blast!

If there is one activity that is pretty much guanranteed to amuse children it is camping. Mine regard the event as the highest form of entertainment.
Of course that might change in a few years when they become teenaged & cool.

Yes he had fun and so did I watching where he was swinging the mallet…
Hopefully there will be a few more outdoor adventures although it might just be the two of us for a while.

“Tasked with”?
You should put the women to work, as well.

They did a good job keeping the inside warm.
