WordPress 2.7 upgrade troubles

Written by: adekun on 11 December, 2008 11:55 pm - Filed under: blog

Usually unpacking the latest WordPress release and uploading it, has worked fine. With this last release, instead of my blog, I ended up with either:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_remote_post() in .../wp-includes/cron.php or
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_remote_post() in ../wp-includes/update.php

Uploading again didn’t bring about any better results. A quick search on the above terms in Google brought up a long list of blogs instead of a solution. However, all it took was a glance through the readme.

1. Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified.

Deleting the wp_admin and wp_includes folders then uploading again sorted my WordPress woes.
