!!! does everyone buy a rice spoon from Miyajima? I use mine everytime we serve rice. It has a label on it which I haven't translated - perhaps it say "special offer"?!!

I had to wait until the next day for mine. Luckily the amount of cabbage didn't cause an upset during the bus trip back. In Hiroshima it is cooked in a different style to what we usually have here. I would post a recipe but my wife uses a pre-packed mix. The rice spoon further up the street was a surprise.

Thank you for posting these pictures - it has brought back lovely memories of our visit to Miyajima. We ate okonomiyaki at a little place in the street in your photo - the chef was so skillful assembling all the ingedients on the hot plate - delicious!!!
